Perth Sax-mo-phone news in June
Here’s some of what’s coming up in June for in Perth’s saxophone world.  There are PLENTY of opportunities to see, hear and play this month, so come along and be involved what’s happening in Perth’s saxophone world!

Sat 6th June: Mike Bednall (final year WAAPA saxophonist) will be giving world premiere performances and arrangements with the Perth Saxophone Collective at the Astor Theatre. Click here for details.

Fri 5th June and Sat 6th June:  I will be performing the wonderful Old Castle with WASO.  Click here for concert details.

Sunday 7th of June: Erin Royer will be giving a recital at  5pm at John Septimus Roe Chapel. It’s going to be a concert of classical/contemporary saxophone repertoire with lots of fun things like raffles, wine, art and of course music! It starts at 5pm until just before 7pm at the John Septimus Roe chapel in Mirabooka, tickets are $20 which gets you a complimentary raffle ticket! This will be a fundraiser concert for the release of Erin’s debut CD – don’t miss it!  For more details, click here.
Sunday 14th June:  Clarinet and Saxophone Society ClariSax Feast – get involved in a full day of all things saxophone and clarinet featuring a special guest artist. Yes the special guest IS…..This is a day for all stages, ages and abilities.  Register online, bring your sax, play some great music and get some brilliant playing tips – spread the word! Tuesday 16th June: The music of Andy Scott meets the Australian Sax Assault, Ellington Jazz Club. Nine of Perth’s top sax players kick the Ellington stage into high gear with jazz and funk charts from Andy Scott.  Click here for bookings.

Sunday 20th June: Carey Music Presents…an evening featuring the music of Andy Scott, Matt Styles, the Russell Holmes trio, a special guest….and the Carey Baptist Big Band.  Carey Baptist, Harrisdale.  More details to come….

Sunday June 21st: Mix’t Trio (myself, Paul tanner and Adam Pinto) will be performing some of the music from their forthcoming album Home By Eleven at the Grove Library in the final of the Cappuccino Concert series on Sunday afternoon. Classical, Jazz, African and Tango collide in this eclectic concert.  Click here for details.
