Matthew has built a local and international career as classical and jazz performer, consultant and lecturer studying in the UK and USA and lecturing and performing in the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Since 1999, Matthew has established himself as a leading figure in Jazz and Classical music education and ‘Music in Popular Culture’, being able to communicate musical meaning to musicians of all ages and stages.  Matthew currently lectures at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (ECU) and specializes in the interpretation, pedagogy and performance of multi-genre or ‘cross-over’ works, whilst aiding in the expansion and academic development of the Contemporary Music department.

Matt is available to;

  • perform as a soloist (classical, cross-genre, Jazz),
  • perform as part of Mix’t Trio (cross-genre), Scope (Jazz, Latin, funk), FSO (corss-genre, jazz, funk)
  • perform as an improviser (cross-genre, jazz)
  • develop and lead performance workshops for saxophones and woodwinds
  • collaborate with teachers, students and professional music organisations to develop custom creative projects
  • arrange and compose for numerous musical situations
  • help you appreciate your wine!
